Delta counts down to A350, new routes and onboard services from Amsterdam

AMSTERDAM, March 16, 2018 – Delta Air Lines’ is bringing a host of new onboard features and amenities, routes – and even a brand-new aircraft – to The Netherlands this summer, offering customers an enhanced travel experience on flights to the United States.

Delta will operate up to 1920 peak day flights between Amsterdam and the U.S. during the peak travel season, with nonstop flights to 10 destinations. Connections are also available via Schiphol from destinations across Europe, India and beyond on services operated by Delta’s partners Air France, KLM, Jet Airways and Transavia.

“It’s an exciting time for Delta in The Netherlands, we’re growing our network with new services to Orlando and Los Angeles, launching product innovations and making investments to ensure a more enjoyable flight for the 2.7 million passengers travelling between the Amsterdam and the U.S. each year,” said Dwight James, Delta’s senior vice president Trans-Atlantic. “Meanwhile, our flagship A350 aircraft will offer Delta’s best-ever onboard experience at our largest European hub when it arrives over the Easter weekend.”

Highlights of Delta’s enhancements include:

A350’s Trans-Atlantic debut
Delta’s flagship international aircraft, the A350-900, will operate on one of the airline’s four daily departures from Amsterdam to Detroit, effective April 1, 2018. Amsterdam is the first trans-Atlantic destination for Delta’s A350, which features two brand-new products: the Delta One® Suite and Delta Premium Select, plus a comfortable Main Cabin.

Nonstop to Orlando and Los Angeles
The excitement of the many theme parks and attractions of Florida and California will be even easier to access thanks to new nonstop flights. Delta’s daily flight to Orlando starts on March 31, 2018 with the four-times-weekly service to Los Angeles taking off on June 18, 2018.

Delta Comfort+ means more
Customers flying from The Netherlands will find a new fare class on delta.com – Delta Comfort+. This offers a range of benefits including: additional legroom, extra recline, dedicated bin space and priority boarding.

Main Cabin perks
Delta’s is investing in its onboard services for Main Cabin customers, to offer a restaurant-style dining experience, complete with menu cards. In addition to complimentary Avissi Prosecco in Main Cabin, to make every flight a special occasion, customers will enjoy an upgraded meal service accompanied by their choice of wine, beers and spirits.

Delta One dine-as-you-choose
Delta One customers travelling on select flights starting March 22, 2018, from Atlanta and New York-JFK can pre-select their meal ensuring they will always receive their first choice. The service will be rolled-out across the international network over the course of this year.

Stay connected and entertained
All flights offer free mobile messaging via WhatsApp, iMessage and Facebook Messenger, in addition to optional Wi-Fi access, so customers can stay connected throughout their journey. Meanwhile, Delta Studio offers more than 1,000 hours of complimentary entertainment at every passenger’s seat or can be streamed to their laptop, tablet or phone.
